Hellenic Cosmos

αρχείο λήψης

This ultra-modern cultural centre is part of an on-going project to redevelop Athens’ industrial zone. It aims to educate about the Hellenism movement and the history and culture associated with this period. Situated on the borders of Athens and Piraeus, its contemporary design stands in stark contrast to the ancient buildings of the city’s past, and represents its newfound modern identity.

Inside it houses interactive exhibitions, virtual reality tours, theatrical performances, documentaries and the occasional art event. The museum prides itself on its utilisation of new state-of-the-art technology, which allows an audiovisual and interactive examination of Hellenic history where the audience can participate actively. The Hellenic Cosmos is continuing to grow, with plans in place to extend it further over the coming years to become part of a whole cultural park.
